So this seems to happen sporadically in complex templates using multiple KONTAKT8 instances. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn’t
Record something (preferably Spitfire?)
Add controller data using your Midi controller
Play back that part
What should happen:
Modulation/Expression should be rendered flawlessly.
What instead happens:
Glitching out of Modulation/Expression
My guess is the interpolation of the recorded controller info is somewhat broken?
Does this happen to anyone else? I am losing my mind here.
Setting this to “stepped” somewhat resolves the issue but it keeps happening again as soon as I revert it back to the “Ramp” behavior
update
so I figured an extra automation lane for “Dynamics” was added for some reason - I am not sure why:
So the main culprit here is: how is it sometimes adding automation lanes for one of my controllers when I am just recording and editing them in the piano roll? Did I accidentally hit a keystroke or something?
Are you operating Nuendo 14.0.4x? There was a similiar issue in the initial releases of version 14 but it got fixed later on.
Yes it’s the newest version. Can you link me to a forum post? Thanks in advance!
I was assuming maybe there is a thread you might know of where you got this information from
It’s ok if you can’t remember, I’ll just keep searching. Searching these kind of issues is sometimes difficult…
You can see some info here:
Pitch bend data that is recorded in ramp mode in 14 does not play back properly at all. It causes weird playback, and makes certain VSTs glitch out and stop producing sound (NI FM8 for example)
I am fully aware that switching to step mode prevents this from happening for NEW recorded data, but the problem is that any data that has been previously recorded (i.e. in all my cubase 13 projects) cannot be used in cubase 14 at all because of this.
The pitchbend playback was all fine in cubase 13 usi…
It’s a long read.
Your case is probably different as the linked issue was fixed with 14.0.20.
