How do I create a cue for only the marked section?
You can’t tell Dorico to only cue some notes from a chord in a source staff. What you’ll have to do is add another player to your project just to be a source of cues, add the notes you want to be cued (the upper viola notes) into that staff, and then cue from there. When you’re done, you can remove the cue player from your full score.
Another option would be to enter the cue notes directly in the oboe staff and then resize them and add a label with staff text and the cue labels size, but then of course the notes are not dynamically linked to the source material.
