Cue notes for percussions parts

Hi,

Is it possible to add a cue note from, say, oboe to a one line percussion staff, and have the percussion staff changed to 5 lines for the duration of the cue (as it is traditionally on parts) ?

Yes – you need to add some melodic instrument to the percussion player, and then put the cue into that instrument and allow instrument changes.

Trumpet cue notes into the percussion stuff?

If you want pitched cues for an unpitched instrument, the trick is to add a pitched instrument, dedicated to the cues, to that player (and allow instrument changes). [image]
