Is there a way to see the current tempo without having to scroll to the top staff and then scroll backwards to find the last tempo marking?
In those cases I usually look at the tempo listed at the top right in the transport (which I always have set to Follow Tempo Mode which will show you the tempo at any given point where you play from).

Oh, man. How did I not know this? Thanks!

It would be nice if this display updated when you select a notation item, and not just when you start playback.

Good idea. Since technically it is part of the transport section (i.e., playback) not sure if that’s a big task for the devs but I agree it would be helpful to be able to see tempo at selection.

That would negatively affect performance as Dorico would have to chase down the tempo settings on every note selection.

True, but we have no idea how expensive that is.
