Cursor movement can be modifier + motion

Right now, to move the cursor with a modifier, you have to hold Command, click, then drag left or right. That feels backwards to me, because clicking implies selecting—not just navigating.

A more natural interaction would be: hold Command (or any modifier) and move the mouse left/right, and the cursor simply follows the movement—no clicking required. Then, if you release the modifier, it immediately stops tracking, so you don’t accidentally select something or trigger a click in the wrong place when you weren’t trying to.

Please add an option for this behavior so cursor movement can be modifier + motion, not modifier + click + drag.

So lets take Set Cursor Position a an example. If my mouse cursor is already at the location I wish to move the song position cursor to, I need to move the mouse?

When I hold a modifier key, I want the playhead/cursor to behave like it’s “magnetically” locked to a horizontal line. It should follow my mouse left and right without requiring a click. Wherever I stop or when I release the modifier, the cursor should stay parked at that position.

Right now, having to click-and-drag feels wrong because clicking usually implies selecting something. I’m asking for an option that lets me move the cursor/playhead with just a modifier + mouse movement, no clicking.

No different than having a magnetic jog wheel, when modifier key is held, so one can quickly go to any position of the song and start playing or editing.
Do you see what I’m saying? It’s an easier way to navigate and more intuitive…
