Custom accidentals and/or lyrics

In pre Cubase 14 versions, I used lyrics to create custom accidentals, to visually see where I had microtonal notes (played by a change in midi channel designation, and vsti playback, I set up with individual notes).

It would be nice if lyrics in the C14 score editor could be shifted in front of the note (where the accidental would be, or right before an existing sharp of flat).

Alternatively, if there was some other way to put in a “note-linked” microtonal accidental (or add custom accidentals) that would be great. I’m not sure if there is any way to link this up with the microtonal set ups that I do in Dorico, but that would be ideal.

Deeper linking of microtonal playback and score feels a bit beyond the scope what we currently intend to achieve in Cubase. Longer term we may allow for fine tuning the automatic positioning of elements, which you could then use creatively for what you described above.

Yeah, I was thinking full microtonal setup and playback integration with Dorico is probably a bit too ambitious. Like you say though, with further customizable functionality, like positioning of elements would help. Perhaps custom/modified accidentals (not playback-capable necessarily) would definitely be nice if possible.
