"Custom" Bar Number Placement?

Hello,

Is it possible, using engraver or layout settings preferably, to make the first bar number of piece be more underneath the time signature? I have attached an example of what I’m wanting and and what I currently see in my project. Thanks for the help! The blurry screenshot is what I’m wanting to achieve, and the other screenshot is from my project.

You can always change the Bar Number X value in Engrave mode.

Jesper

I know about that, but I was trying to not use engrave mode. I didn’t know if there was a setting I missed somewhere.

This should work, but it will be for every bar…

Correct, but I’m only wanting the first bar only. Thanks, though!

I don’t think that’s possible. I’ve tried several settings, but it won’t allow you to select Centered On Bar for Alignment after start of system at the same time as Left-Aligned on Start of System. From the dialog design, it feels this should be possible, and I wonder why it isn’t.

Same! I guess I’ll have to use engraver mode to manually move it every time (more stuff I have to manually do!).

@35TCB77 You can easily record a macro that does this for all flows at once (switching to Engrave mode*, setting the offset, propagate the properties and switching back to Write mode*). You just need to select the first bar number in the score, for each flow.

  • The script code:
local app=DoApp.DoApp()
app:doCommand([[Window.SwitchMode?WindowMode=kEngraveMode]])
app:doCommand([[UI.InvokePropertyChangeValue?Type=kBarNumberDx&Value=string: "0"]])
app:doCommand([[UI.InvokePropertyChangeValue?Type=kBarNumberDx&Value=string: "39/8"]])
app:doCommand([[Edit.PropagateProperties]])
app:doCommand([[Window.SwitchMode?WindowMode=kWriteMode]])

  • And here the usage in realtime:

(*) There are ways to avoid the mode switching, but I don’t remember what is the code for it. Possibly someone can tell more…

Thanks, but I only need it for the very first bar of the score. I ended up making the change and just saving the project as a template. Thanks again, though!
