I’m not sure how exactly to search for the answer to this because I’m not quite sure how to word my question. But I want to be able to customize how it displays syncopated notes over what would be irregular beat divisions. Basically, I want my time signature to say 7/8 but having the beaming of the 14/16 seen below. Trying to allow notes to show as whole in the Notation Options window doesn’t do anything for divisions this small, and the syncopation options don’t help either. How do I achieve this? [2+2+1.5+1.5]/8 did not work, either.
I think you have to use 7/8 in the first bar, using manual beaming and possibly force duration. , then a hidden 4+4+3+3/16 in the second bar.

There was a similar thread today.
The issue with that though is that I don’t know how to make the syncopated eighth note appear as an eighth note instead of 2 tied sixteenth notes in 7/8. It automatically changes it to the tied sixteenths, and I don’t know how to get it to stop from doing that.
Ah, let me check.

Yes, that’s it! How did you achieve that?
Not 7/8. As I said, use 7/8 in the first bar with manual beaming and force duration, then a hidden 4+4+3+3/16 in the second bar.

Force duration! That’s the tool I forgot about! Ok, awesome. Thank you!
