Custom MM symbols?

I would like to use my own custom rhythmic duration symbols for the metronome mark if possible. They are in svg form, not inside a font. Is this possible?

EDIT: Doesn’t work. Worth a try. I guess the only option is a Playing Technique instead.

If this is what you mean, you could try to edit under Library->Music Symbols->Tempo. Click the trash can to delete the current symbol, and select graphic at the right side.

Thanks. I even edited the Q-note symbol that was labeled “Tempo” and it had no effect. Not sure why it’s listed then.

Possibly, as many custom graphic items, you could create a custom playing technique?

I’m wondering about this window pictured below. It seems to suggest that you can substitute your own metronome symbols but they are all blank, and I edited one to add my own and nothing happened.

It seems like it has to be in an actual smufl font under Character Styles > Metronome Mark Music Text

No, but you can set a tempo marking and then hide it, for playback.
