Custom multi-bar rest handling?

I’m showing the “1”'s over the single measure multi-rests, and I have some that have the text above “G.P.” (everyone is silent here). I’s love to find a way to not show the “1” when the text is there. I tried inputting a bar rest there (in the default voice), but doesn’t seem to work, the “1” is still there.

Is there a way I could do this?

You could input the GP text at any rhythmic location in that empty bar besides the downbeat. That will break the multibar rest.
