Customizing Key Editor cursor tools

I’m working on making Cubase 7 my primary DAW and tonight I’ve been getting more familiar with piano roll editing. I am getting comfortable with using Shift, Alt, Ctrl with the mouse to draw and edit notes but one thing I can’t figure out is how to make the Erase tool behave differently.

I’ve been looking at the Tool Modifiers in Preferences; I go to Editing > Tool Modifiers - Erase Tool but I don’t see how you would change how the cursor tool erases. It doesn’t seem like Key Commands can accomplish this either.

What I would like to do is have the left mouse button erase a note while I am holding down shift. Even better would be to have a right click erase a note if the cursor is directly on the note? Is there a way to do this? I’m sorry if I’ve overlooked it but I’ve been scouring the manual and all the options menus and google and youtube and I can’t figure this out. I’m starting to worry that it’s not possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
