Cut a range and fade in/out the new event endings

Hi!

Is there a quick method to cut out a selected range of an audio event and apply a slight fade at the and/start of the two events that are created then?

To cut it is just backspace, but then you have to manually apply the fades. When editing this takes a lot of time when you do dozens of those cuts.

Hi,

You can apply the Direct Offline Process Chain with pre-defined Fade In and Out. You can assign this to the Favorites and assign a Key Command to trigger it.

Hm. Tried a bit, but can’t find a solution to achieve that with a single command.

That’s what Macros are for—stringing together multiple commands.

Yes, but how to apply the fades to the new two events I create when cutimg a range?

Try this Macro:

@mlib 's solution is a good alternative

You can use a single key command if you create a Favorite with the Envelope Process. Set the Envelope processing to a bowl-shaped envelope similar to the following:

You can then drag this single processing step down to the Favorites section in order to create a Favorite and then assign a shortcut key to that Favorite in Key Commands. Of course, when you use this technique you have to decide where you want the fade out and fade in to commence when you make the range selection but IMO this is an advantage.

This technique is advantageous because all processing is non-destructive and you can choose to adjust or delete each faded section / fade characteristics individually after processing.
