I’m doing an incipit for an early music edition, and would like the continuo part to only show the bass part, not the realization. I have the option set for independent cutaway of grand staff staves. But when I cutaway the first measure, both measures disappear, even though only the top is selected. This happens whether that measure is created as a Coda or not (I would prefer it to be a Coda for barline reasons). I thought I could set the top line to Scale 1 for that measure, but that also makes the left hand disappear. Is there any way to make these staves behave independently for just one measure?
You can select the cutaway signpost and switch off “Apply to all staves” in the Properties Panel:
I would also have thought that this layout option would be enough, but apparently not — I’m not quite sure why.
Edit: this option works indeed for automatic cutaways, but obviously not for manual ones.
