Cutting and Pasting Parts

Hi, I know it can be done but each time I select a recorded part I can’t cut and paste it into another track? What am I doing wrong?

The way I do it is

  1. Turn snap off.
  2. Then I select the part using the range selection tool.

Then you can cut or copy to another track.
