Cycle Bar Dragging Down, how to get the same C14 Interface?

Hi,

I recently moved from C14 to C15. Everything is going well except for this cycle color issue I am having.

In C14, the cycle space from L to R is greyed out only on top in the ruler. This is great because it keeps the view clear. In C15, not only is it filled on top, but the color drags all the way down into the arrangement section where I write my notes. I do not like this look at all.

I imagine this can be disabled somewhere, but I am unable to find the right toggle. I have tried clicking through the menus and applying different settings with no luck so far.

Does anyone have a clue how to fix this? See screenshots.

Cheers.

Hi Aleksi,

The look of Key Editor within cycle range has been changed since 15.0.20. Discussions around this can be found in many threads across this forum. Here’s one.

I personally liked the C14 look as well wherein the cycle range color didn’t come all the way down. But it apparently was a bug which got fixed in C 15.0.20 and hence the new appearence. My main issue is with the part edge boders which get quite elusive unless you keep cycle range in lighter shades. I’m hoping they adress this in future release cycles. Till then, I guess you’d have to play around with the shades and find some setting that you can work around with.

Thanks ! Well that was a convenient bug !

I got to find the same color of the arranger background (see screenshot). It blends fine as if there was nothing within the measure, but it still bleeds out after the measure is finished. Which is confusing because it seems like the measure is longer than it is. I don’t know if i was clear, see screenshot.

I hope Steinberg gives us the possibility of toggling this off.

It sure was ! :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah, it seems this new implementation is a little problematic for quite a few (including me). I prefered how it was in C14. This is the darkest I can get the cycle range where I can see the part edge borders somewhat. Anything darker than this will make these edges quickly disappear out of my comfort zone.

Yes, this exactly !
