When the cycle markers are very close (50 milliseconds) cycle is ignored.

Yes, this is by design.
There are technical reasons for that. (buffering and such)
If they would allow such short cycles, the application would crash pretty much every time.

OK, thanks for the answer. Has it always been like this? I use those super short loops for analyzing noise - don’t remember having this problem before. Well, there are workarounds.
It has… I remember this issue on the forum back in the Cubase VST days!
