Hi,

When you do the Record in Editor, you record into an already existing MIDI Part.

You are right, the overwrite mode could work. But I think these settings apply to the record in the Project window only.

In the project window you can also record into an already existing part. (Merge and Overwrite in the Midi recording options)
From a user’s point of view I find it hard to fathom why overwrite should not work in a midi editor.
