I think must see the date of update on Cubase Steinberg hab (and on downloader ). This make the update more flexible and fullable.
Do you have a problem finding the latest updates? I am not 100% sure I understand your issue.
but maybe this will make updates less confusing:
I suggest you use the Steinberg Download Assistant Steinberg Download Assistant | Steinberg
there you will always have the latest full versions and updates available. so all you have to do is double-check what version you have installed vs what is available for download
