DAW Project format export issue

Besides Cubase Pro 15, I also have Studio One Pro 7, and both have the ability to export and import the DAW project format, which is a great step forward. But in exporting my template, I realized that when opening it in Studio One it seems perfect at first, but then it’s missing one thing.

While each track has the correct engine as the instrument, whether it’s Opus, Sine, Kontakt, etc, it doesn’t save the library loaded inside the engine. I had to double check and open the template project in Cubase Pro 15 to make sure I had actually loaded the libraries, and they are there.

So, is this a shortcoming of the DAW Project format, or something that perhaps is not working correctly in either Cubase when exporting the file, or in Studio One Pro when loading it? Of course if Studio One is the culprit, I’m not expecting anyone here in the Cubase forum to tell me, but I would like to have an idea of which of the three might be.

Regardless, this is a great format, because before it, if I wanted to send a project to another DAW, it was export as MIDI and then having to assign all the instruments again. And forget about groups, FX tracks, inserts and else. As far as I can tell, other than the libraries inside each engine, everything else exports perfectly fine.

Now I wish Apple got off their asses and brought it to Logic Pro, where there’s no trace of it last time I checked.

Did you try exporting a project from Studio One 7 and opening it in Cubase 15? Might help narrowing things down a bit.
