Dawproject format: what to expect

I have a Dorico project, which I imported as a MIDI file to Cubase where I recreated the track to port/channel setup already prepared in Vienna Ensemble Pro. Saved in Cubase native format, no problem.

Now I want to export this project in Dawproject format and import it to Bitwig. When I open the exported file there, I get the VST setup as prepared, and also the master output, but no instrument tracks. Since the term ‘instrument’ is ambiguous in this context, I mean the individual MIDI tracks that can then be routed to the relevant VST instrument track.

In short, is this what I’m meant to get?

Here and here, you can read details about the *.dawproject implementation in Cubase.

MIDI Tracks don’t seem to be implemented.

Thanks Martin. The first link, at the point where it opens, implies that you are right, but further on down (at the part about exporting) it includes MIDI data. The second link, too, says that Cubasis includes “MIDI notes, CC, pitch-bend, aftertouch, program change”.

Yes, both links don’t mention the MIDI Track type, but they mention the Instrument Track type, which might contain the MIDI data.
