I have stopped using RX10 since buying SL10 and now SL11 , but I just did a batch declick on some samples and noticed SL11 is not removing the click fully , RX10 does it with ease I didn’t even tweak the De Click plugin . files attached
Improvements to the DeClick module are planned in an upcoming patch.
I have around 900 samples with this instrument , I’ll save it with the click and use it to test when the update drops .
Feel free to use my files to test
Thx
Andy
Yes, this is indeed a shortcoming of SL.
But I’m sure Robin will come up with a great solution!
@Robin_Lobel , RX de-click is the benchmark for this, I’m sure. Please make something that can do what it does, with no compromises, at a minimum, please!
If you can, I’m selling my RX and never coming back!
I was previously using Acon Restoration Suite DeClick in all my work and have applied DeClick before exporting my comps for deeper, manual NR in SL.
I will continue using Acon DeClick. There are so many other things I’d like to see in SL than a task done well in other softwares
Meanwhile you can try playing with the FFT
we have covered it in some detail. in our recent comparison and tut.
Also the declick has not been updated from RX 4 and if you have 10 you are good, just use it with the new batch feature of SLP 11.
ok cheers , do you have a link to the FFT comparison
thx
Waiting for the next update is the only thing in my life I look forward to.
Thanks Rajiv!
I have watched a bit of the video when you first linked it, and I must say, it is a great work. Excellent text and presentation, very well organized, detailed and well produced. Congratulations to all the team!
Regarding the FFT, I’m aware that it makes a huge difference to some modules, such as DeClick, but to be honest I think DeClick is kinda broken, at least for what I expect from a DeClick module. It is never enough, no matter the FFT size, It removes minuscule crackles but leaves the giant obvious offending clicks behind, even in cases so inequivocal that Acon or RX remove completely in any setting.
It either needs a complete rework from the ground up, or needs to be renamed, heheh!
Yes, in the meantime I’ll keep using RX. But speaking of this, and responding to @ctreitzell too, I get that there are other software such as RX for such tasks, but nevertheless I would rather have a complete set of tools in SL and simply ditch RX altogether. I can make some cash selling the license and it is one less workflow to keep unde my fingers. And lets face it, a good DeClick solution is a VERY basic feature for any audio restoration software.
+1 for me !!!
To all : can you post a couple click examples that SL should ideally be able to clean, but does not currently ?
sure thing! I’ll collect a few and post them here. Thanks Robin!
Hi Robin, I’ll DM you a link to the patch I just had problems with in SL11 , but RX10 worked
There are a lot of RR samples like 900 odd , maybe a good ref , as there all very similar
Thx
Andy
This might be sad of funny. I hope you meant the second
If there is something sad, use SL to remove it
complete sentence
@grayedout thanks for the samples
@henrique_staino @BJ_Dobbs if you have some samples, now would be a good time to post them as I’m working on improving that feature now
oops sorry for the delay! I was working on a project with no clicks hehehehe.
I am doing it right now and will post the link here in a few minutes!
Thanks Robin!
