Decorated Fingering positioned beside the note

Hi. I noticed that when I choose “position left of notehead” for a fingering it stops give an option for decoration (circle/underline). And if a fingering is decorated when I choose “position left of notehead” it cease to be.

Is there a work around this, other than just manually positioning the fingering.

And also, is there a way I can erase the background, if I manually place a circled fingering over the staff?

Thanks!

Well instead of using a Dorico proper fingering, you could just use system text and Encercle font (so useful!) to achieve fingering with about 12 or so styles and you can have coloured background that masks the staff as well:

[Red just for emphasis, and to show flexbility.]

Encercle cam be obtained from Notation Central.

Would that be of any use? It involves manual moving of course.

There’s probably no need for a special font … See this thread from January.

Thank you. I’ll check out this font, it’s good to know. I came across a boxed text font here in the forum that someone created that was really useful.

Thank you, very helpful. I’ll check out in detail. It seems like a work around could be designing something with “playing techniques”. Thx!
