Is there any way to make cubase open the def.all file from a different location other than the steinberg/cubase vst 5.0 folder? as my computer won’t allow file saving in the Program Files folder; alternatively, does anyone know how enable file saving here?

Why not create a separate folder for all your .all song files? Cubase should be able to open them from anywhere on your computer.
yeah - but i wanted to have a customised def.all file to start new projects with… i’m thinking i might just reinstall cubase in a whole new directory anyway though.
