Hi… is there an option or quick way to default lyrics to above the staff?
I’m actually using Lyrics since there is no percussion sticking feature.
Couldn’t you use Performance Techniques?
When you open the lyric popover, press Shift-up arrow, then start typing lyrics… they’ll be above.

In the Playing Techniques palette, (which does have quite a lot of percussion symbols), you can create your own symbols, which, if you want, can be linked to playback styles in Play mode. But if you just want a bunch of the same few symbols above notes, that’s the place to go.
