I just noticed there are duplicate copies of the “Default Music Text” and the “Playing Techniques” fonts, and the option to delete them is greyed out.
Any ideas on how I can remove these duplicates?

You can’t delete styles which are in use, either in the current document or as user defaults.
Is the star button filled in in the bottom left of the dialog? If so, then the style is saved as a user default. Click the star button to un-save it, then OK to close the dialog.
If you open the dialog again and are still not able to delete the style, then it must be in use somewhere in the document. Export > Text will show you where styles are used on text items, but it won’t show you the style info for playing techniques. Your best bet may be to change that style so that it’s really big, and then scroll through the project looking for instances of it. (And then change those instances to use the regular style.)
