Default Output Level not 0.0dB: Is it Intentional?

Is it supposed to be where you can set the output default to 0db?
This is the closest I could get with the arrow keys, I have to double click each mixer track in Play mode for each new project.
Of course 0.04 is probably undetectable to 0, but there is still a bothersome UI aspect to it

Here’s a post about that, should you be comfortable manually editing your preferences file:

I took the liberty of editing your topic title to help make it clearer for anyone searching, @Hrxcky. Hope you don’t mind!

Completely agree.

And for others reading here, I know, I know… this isn’t a DAW or audio editor…

But, it is where I’m coming from, when I say this does trigger my ‘OCD’ nature a little, when balancing things in the Dorico mixer for example.

So it’s still not possible to say ‘double click’ on the ‘Default Output Level’ value field to enter an exact setting (and/or, mixer channel volume field readouts).

No option/ability to ‘click-drag’ and make changes to these values either (with the CTRL modifier held for smaller movements).

I don’t trust myself with the idea of hacking XML files to be honest…

[EDIT] - setting channel mixer value fields solved, see below.!

In the mixer, you can Alt/Opt+Click on the value field and then type directly into it.

Oh my god - I Just tried it.! Thank you.! The one modifier I didn’t try… (with single-click)

I will edit my post.

Thanks again…

Perhaps this Sep 2024 post is still applicable (?):
