"Default saving project" menu not working

Hi, whatever I choose in this menu, after hitting “open” after choosing the desired path, the preferences menu closes and upon reopening it and checking, nothing changes. I want to change that default location but I cannot manage to.
I’m on the latest MacOs Ventura, latest Dorico.

UPDATE: same thing happens for the “Project Backup Folder” menu

The Preferences dialog isn’t closed, but it is somewhat unhelpfully sent behind the project window, if one is open. This is something we need to fix. However, the setting of the path does work as expected.
