Defining an extended bar in a Cadenza

Dorico Pro 5.1: Windows 10/11

  1. I have a bar with a cue showing the notes at the end of a cello cadenza. The music is in 4/4, however, the cue contains 6 quater notes. How to I handle this?
  2. There is a cue for Bassi. I have unsuccessfully tried to find this definition - does it refer to a double base?

The simple way is to use a hidden tuplet. Here you would probably just need an 8:4q on the second half of the bar.

Have you not downloaded the Elgar Score yet from IMSLP? Yes, Bassi mean basses.

Thanks for the tip. Can I hide the tupplet bracket and number?

You can, at least in Pro and probably in Elements as well in the Properties Panel.

Of course! Select the tuplet (number/bracket, not the notes) and set these properties.
