Hi there, I’m very new to Dorico (like, this weekend!) and I have a question to which I’m sure there must be a simple answer. I want to remove ALL humanisation from playback: I’m after concrete robotic learning tracks that just obey the written rhythms and dynamics. I’ve unchecked Preserve Note Velocities/Positions but my playback still seems to randomly make certain bars or notes quieter or louder, and doesn’t seem to obey written dynamics. I feel I must be missing something obvious - please help!

you need to go into Playback Options in the Library menu. There you’ll see a tab for Dynamics You basically need to untick or set to zero as appropriate all the humanisation options there.

You should also set the humanisation to zero in Playback Options>Timing>note start positions
quite correct — I was just focussing on the dynamics as that seemed to be the main area of concern.
