I wanted to add a 1 bar delay to a chord on an instrument, so I inserted the Steinberg stereo delay plugin set to sync 1/1 and discovered that this only works in 4/4 ! My time signature is set to 5/4 and the delay happened on the fourth beat. I tried this on a new project set to 3/4 and the delay happened on the fourth beat again. I also checked with a non Steinberg plugin, with the same result.
This means that to label the sync as 1/1 in anything other than 4/4 time is incorrect. It should be labelled 4 (beats)
That is unfortunate! I guess you have to calculate the delay time and adjust your delay accordingly. HereĀ“s how to calculate the delay time in milliseconds in case you need a formula.
60.000 ms / (bpm x number of beats) = delay time in ms
Example: 90 bpm, 5/4 > delay time one bar or 5 beats in this case
60.000 ms / (90 x 5) = 3.333,3 ms
