Delay Effect In 'VocalChain' Not Applied When Reading Automation?

I’ve just been working on an old project in Cubase 14 and want to apply a delay effect on certain parts of the vocal, I’m using the ’ Cavern Vocal’ preset within ‘VocalChain’, I’ve set the automation to turn Delay on and off, which it does visually with ‘Read’ enabled on playback, but the effect just isn’t applied?! It’s driving me nuts! Any help would be very much appreciated!

Do you hear the delay if you manually enable it?

Hi Matthew_Scales,

confirmed. This will be fixed for a future update.

As a workaround you could try to automate delay send and ducking amount instead.

Andreas

Yes, it works perfectly if I turn it on and off manually within ‘VocalChain’, and it sounds great, but the ‘Read’ automation function just doesn’t enable the effect, the automation certainly shows the switching ‘on and off’, but you can’t hear it?! The workaround I’ve found is simply to automate the level of the delay (0db to -15db), that works, but a simple ‘on and off’ would’ve been easier!

Hi Andreas, many thanks for the reply. Yes, I’ve already tried what you’ve suggested, it works! Great to hear this issue will be sorted however!
