With VST live version 2.2.120, there’s a delay when switching from one song to the next when multiprocessing is enabled in the settings.
The delay is approximately 3 seconds.
Here’s an example of a completely empty project with no VST, just empty MIDI tracks, so there’s nothing to preload! The second and third songs don’t even start on the first bar due to the delay, as you can see in the video.
If you turn off multiprocessing in VST Live, everything works as expected, there is no lag.
The delay with multiprocessing is only visual. I tested it yesterday. The song is starting to play even if you still see the previous song for 2-3 seconds. You see that playhead is on the go when visual switches to the song. Yes, looks not good, but the sound isn’t disturbed. At least in my tries.
I experience that with multiprocessing the next song starts immediately while without multiprocessing it starts only when visuals are loaded (sometimes 2-3 seconds). On slow washmachines it is brilliant even if visuals are late
In any case, this shouldn’t happen, period! I understand your point, but we have different views. It’s okay to constantly deal with any bugs, work around them, look for other solutions, disable multiprocessing in the settings, and so on… Is that your approach, even though you’re supposedly an official beta tester? And if so, tell me, please, why are I and so many others doing this work for you?
Who else but you should be the one communicating all our problems to the developers first, and not arguing whether the lag is visual or real?
Or do we all just want VST Live to work without complaints? I think all users want that. So, less talk, more action.
What do you mean by “official beta tester”? I don’t receive from this team more than you and other users. There are no official beta testers. Only enthusiasts who cares more about everything in this ALPS. Beta testers just switched off their ability to be angry to developers. And if I try to answer faster than the team member, it means I’d like to free them a little from answering some questions, issues, bugs… Yes, sometimes by recommending workarounds just like I do and it works almost for all, except some special anti-beta-users.
What work? Testing beta versions? For me?! I didn’t ask you anything. Use your purchased official release and wait for next one.
P.S. My reply to your post identifies that delay caused by refreshing visuals in the program. This is finding that could help the team to search where the problem is. If there is problem at all. Sorry that I crashed your night again
Arthur, I’m sorry, but do you even read what you’re writing? You’re expressing yourself correctly here.
But here it’s the other way around? Are you trying to confuse the developers? Or are you already confused yourself…
Or is this just for the sake of writing something? At least read what you’re writing…
So you don’t have to reply.
