“delete all unused files” - Cubase crashes (confirmed by user)

I still suggest opening another support ticket – keep the verbiage short and neutral, link to this thread and include the recent crash logs from both platforms.

I’ll do it.

I can confirm this works as expected in Nuendo 14.

@Norbury_Brook are you able to repro this consistently or is it intermittent?

It’s consistent in that I followed the steps and it crashed straight away. Tried again and same thing.

Tried with Nuendo this morning and it was fine.

Hi,

Reported to Steinberg. Thank you.

hi Martin, thanks for reporting it to Steinberg again. Let’s see if they fix it this time. I don’t remember the last time you did it. I send all these errors to steinberg through cubase (but I get the feeling that it doesn’t go anywhere.)

if it works fine in Nuendo in the end, I will have no choice but to update. In the end Steiny will always win…

Hi,

It was in Cubase 14.0.20 and it was marked as fixed in Cubase 14.0.30.

No, it’s the same issue in Nuendo.

Sorry @Martin.Jirsak but the issue are in all C14 versions. And now all 15 versions…

This doesn’t seem to be a widespread problem but I am very much affected. Very annoying. And there’s no workaround except to make manual backup cpr files before you empty trash in the audio pool in case that action corrupts the cpr file. I hope Hans Zimmer has this issue and speak out.

Are you also on Mac?

For years I always do a backup of the whole project folder whenever I am about to empty the trash in the pool.

I thought it had been fixed (magically) in the last C15 update, but sadly that wasn’t the case. Yesterday I had a crash, which I put in another similar thread…
if Steinberg hasn’t prioritized it since I notified him on C14, he’s not going to do so now.

I don’t like having multiple versions of the same program installed, but I’ll make an exception and still keep C13 for editing (my eyes will hurt, but I’m willing to put up with it)

hopefully at C15.0.20 it will be fixed…or maybe at C16…

More funny crashes!!

Is this still “delete all unused files” in the Pool?
