Hey everyone, I think I’ve done a stupid thing but don’t know how!
Apart from a project I was working on today (080226) All my Dorico files have disappeared, including exported PDFs (luckily - I’m on a new laptop so not everything is on this drive). What’s strange is that the project folders are still there in Documents. I’d also emptied my recycle bin after clearing my downloads folder so I’ve shot myself in the foot there too.
I’ve just used Disk Drill and managed to recover one or two items but Dorico won’t open them now.
Two questions.
1 How did I do this and leave the empty project folders there
2 Anyone got any other suggested form of recovery?
Ps. I’m on Windows 11, a relatively new laptop and haven’t fully setup cloud storage - how inconvenient. Thanks in advance everyone. Dorico Diagnostics files attached.
Hey, thanks for the reply - I just realised that I hadn’t updated the post. It turns out that for some reason, my Documents folder is now linked to onedrive… My main C Drive documents folder is still empty but theres now a linked Documents folder tree that runs the the Onedrive sync from User folder to Cloud documents… I’m not explaining this very well, long day and I’m away from my computer but it looks as though everything has been exported to a syncing Documents folder in Onedrive. All files found but only online. I’ll be sorting this out this weekend when I have a bit more time. Thanks again for asking!
Ps… yes, Dorico autosave appears to following the file tree to the cloud storage.
