Hi, am setting up a Windows 11 PC as my Windows 10 PC can’t be upgraded. On the new PC I set up a new email other than the one I purchase Cubase 14 on (the old PC). After I downloaded Cubase 14 from the Download Assistant on the new PC I can’t activate the program despite entering the activation number. It says 'No license found". On the new pc I went through everything recommended by Yamaha the agents in Australia. The Activation Manager on the new PC shows the new email but on the old PC it shows the old email. So I deleted the new email on the new PC hoping this may solve the problem but I believe that it will take 30 days for Steinberg to do this. Is this correct and I wonder why it is so. I also deleted the new email from my email server. Thank you for your advice.
You use the old email and password that you registered with, and that should work without any problems. After all, you can use your Steinberg products on 3 different computers before you need to take any action. the problem will be if you need to reset your password and cant access your old email.
I would recommend you login online to your Steinberg account and change your detail if you are going forward with a different email.
Hi Glen
I did all that before, believe me I have tried everything. I can sign in to Steinberg with my old email on the new PC. The Download Manager on the new PC has my old email, and I can redeem the license on the new PC. The license wont activate on the new PC and shows the new email which has been deleted. The message said that it will take 30 days to delete. Yes I’ve even deleted and reloaded the Activation Manager and Download assistant, and programs and re-booted a dozen times etc. This is so frustrating and I went around in circles a few times. I feel the problem is the old email still showing up on the new PC License Activation. I may not have any other option but to wait the 30 days (28 left).
I appreciate your help.
Thank you
Val Starr
Maybe the 30-day wait period is in anti-hack mode so that if someone gets into your account, they can´t take over all your licenses (like what happens with millions of Instagram and Facebook accounts).
From your description I am not sure why you want to use a new email address for your Steinberg products.
If you think that you need a new address because you have a new computer - you can use your previous email address on the new computer just as well.
If for other reasons you decided to use a new email address for your Steinberg account you can change it in your account settings:
Could be right Glenn, I’ll just wait unless I have another brainwave.
That’s not the issue anymore, it’s having the old email deleted permanently by Steinberg and the waiting period which was my original question. Thanks Johnny.
