Create a new Solo Piano from template (4/4 key irrelevant)
Enter 4 quarters in right hand (pitch is irrelevant)
Command+S (Save)
“Untitled Project” is highlighted in the Save disalog, now, hit delete a few times.
Enter correct file name and Save
The result when the dialog closes is that the number of times you hit the delete key, that number of notes will get deleted from the score.
I’m fairly certain this isn’t Dorico’s fault but shouldn’t the dialog be capturing all keystrokes? The delete keystrokes seem to be queued for when the dialog closes and are then executed on the score.
Here’s a video. The pause during the Save dialog is me hitting the delete key 4 times, then I type test and hit return. I don’t touch anything after that but just watch the automation
I think I figured it out. I have a full size keyboard that has 2 delete keys, one on the normal qwerty layout and one between the qwerty layout and the numpad layout (above the arrow keys). The delete key above the arrow keys causes this behavior, the delete key from the qwerty layout does not.
Strange, I never knew they had different functions.
EDIT: The delete key above the arrows functions as Fn+delete. But my concern still stands about keystrokes not being captured in the dialog, rather queued for execution after dialog closes.
