Not sure how Detect Silence is supposed to work or what settings i need to put but I have tried various combination and i am not able to cut the part where there is no sound at all.
Any idea?

Reduce the Minimum Time Open setting : it should cut also the involved ‘silence’, in your case. This setting is as important as the more intuitive Threshold ones to get effective results.

Well, that’s a bit tricky. If you don’t already know how to use it, it feels pretty unintuitive to me. What I’m trying to do is simply delete the parts where there’s no audio, that’s all.
There are LOTS of places with no audio, at least in theory. That’s why you need to specify a threshold for silence (level and duration). It’s essentially similar to a noise gate.
