Actually, Device Setup is independent to the Audio System configuration. I wish you have the ability to choose that the device setup is the same as the system (like in the majority of programs), as I tend to change a lot between composing in the go (with the built in audio driver) and composing in my home studio (with a dedicated UR242) and I have to change it manually every time I switch between places. I know there are workarounds, but if possible this should be solved to be better.

What I’m supposed to do with this aggregated device? For what I’m reading, it looks as it is meant to allow to use the same device to several programs, which does not appear to be the same, however I do think I am missing something…
An aggregate device is a virtual output that can contain one or more physical devices.
Set Dorico to output to the Aggregate device. Even if its component audio devices are not available, the aggregate will always be available. So when the US242 isn’t available, the aggregate device passes audio to the built-in speakers.
After testing it a few weeks, these are my thoughts about this workaround:
It works more or less. If the device is not connected, instead of remembering it, it shows it as “disconnected device” and if you the connect it, it changes the order you select for the devices inside the device aggregation. So it works, but not very much. And it is not automatic, it needs configuration and I don’t need this kind of configurations for any other program in my mac. I could check it as a ““solution””, but it is clearly not a good solution. It’s better than nothing, though.
I could tag this as PARTIALLY SOLVED, NEEDS IMPROVING.
