Dialog window when rendering in place: "Hey, stupid, you forgot to turn on your inserts"

Hi! I just discovered the reason why you came up with “render in place”. I thought it’s just for MIDI, but as it turns out, it’s a wonderful alternative to DOP dialog because it takes a lot less time to process an audio file when using an FX chain containing multiple plugins. Very good job!

My feature request:
Please have a message window pop-up when the inserts are not active. The render in place operation should yield a result that’s different from the original event. If it doesn’t, a warning saying “Hey, stupid, what’s the reason of this nonsense?” could be helpful. Hope I’m not the one who suggests opening the Pandora box, inviting AI into Cubase.

I think for this to work the audio would have to be rendered before it can be compared to the original, so you wouldn’t save any time.

Maybe. Would be nice though to have at least an optional “no inserts present” warning, since aborting can’t be done so easily.

As long as it comes with a “Don’t ever show this message ever again” checkbox. :+1:
