Correct me if I’m wrong, but quadrafuzz can only be a 1-band or 4-band distortion unit, right? But in this GIF it became a 2-band. Is this plugin supposed to behave like this?
I was just randomly cmd or opt + clicking dragging my mouse on the divider and it happened. After I pulled out the band 3 and 4 to the default positions they never go back to the 20kHz position. Isn’t it weird? Or can this plugin be a complete 2-3 band multiband distortion?
Cubase/Nuendo 14 newer version have been already deployed
a week ago or so, but I haven’t updated yet as there’s no issue on my end and likely this bug hasn’t been discovered by anyone before and Steinberg didn’t fix it.
Hi,
Quadrafuzz can be anything from 1 to 4-band including 2- and 3-band. Just activate the bands you want below the frequency band display for adjusting the crossover frequencies. You’ll find an On/Off button for each band in the top right corner of each unit.
I think you didn’t understand my question here. Let me say it again.
I DO know there are On/Off buttons for each band, but as shown in GIF 1 there is no crossovers for band 3 and 4. Usually those crossovers sit there even after draggin them to the edge and bypassing them. For example, band 3 can only go up to 16kHz range to my knowledge.
So what I’m saying is that did I break quadrafuzz in GIF 1 by pressing random buttons?
Or is there a hidden command or feature to turn this plugin into a true 2-3 band distortion plugin? (like the exciter module in iZotope Neutron and Ozone)
Quadrafuzz v2 is a multiband distortion plug-in. It can distort up to four bands. The band divisions are always there unless you select single ban mode.
The standard operation is that the dividers assume positions at 14kHz, 16kHz and 18kHz when you drag them all to the extreme right and they assume positions at 50Hz, 100Hz and 150Hz when you drag them all to the left.
Things can get graphically weird when dragging them all to the extreme right. Clicking just before a divider can sometimes make it disappear from view but you do have to try quite hard to make this happen. So yes, IMO you probably did break Quadrafuzz v2 and this may be worth reporting to Steinberg. However, it has to be said that most users probably wouldn’t want to drag all the dividers to the extreme right.
