Different collisions in full score and part layout (solo guitar project)

Hi everyone,

I’m working at a solo guitar score and at the end of note inputting, choosing voices, etc. I’ve found out there are collisions in full score layout that are not present in part…

I have same layout settings and I always made global changes if working in engrave mode; I don’t understand how the issue can have occurred…

Thanks,

Without an example, every guess would just be a guess.

But, because I want to learn: why would you, for a solo guitar piece, like to have both a score and part?

HI @TonH ,

your question absolutely make sense: I really don’t have a specific ragion for having both full score and parts, at the moment, but I could decide to add more instruments, one day, so I keep them as Dorico creates them at start of a project and if I work on a layout it upgrades the other (if I set parameters in Layout options ore elsewhere I do for both).

I’m mainly working on the part layout anyway, but I realized there are differences in note spacing while I set astral size and note spacing the same…

Here are two screenshot: part and full score, taken in engrave mode; staff usage is the same, according to Dorico… And I want to understand and learn, just as you do

Thanks for answering!

Could you have manual altered notespacing in one of the layouts?

(Can that be changed globally ?)

Maaybe showing signposts gives a clue

I was just checking it now but, as you can see, any layout movement was done: every handle is blu, horizontally and vertically as well…

Same notes, same (hidden) chord symbols, no font changes, anything, but for some reason middle bar of the three in that system is a bit narrower…

I can adjust everything for sure moving here and there but I don’t like when I don’t understand…

Have to check hidden rests (multiple voices are tricky to manage) but they should be the same as well…
