Different Notes Between Score and Parts

Yes, and clearly you didn’t read the part where I said INDIVIDUAL parts.

I’m out.

So am I at this point. I’m going back to Finale.

Me too.

You apperently want to shout, while we were trying to help you.

Good luck.

@anon86525269 , It seems to me that you are seriously overcomplicating this.

Dorico will handle all your condensing issues for you, if you will simply let it do its job.

You only need to write the notes that each player will physically play. Dorico can then present this as a condensed score, or even condensed parts (if you only want a single part for 3 clarinets).

… and you have got the answer, but it is not as you seem to want it. There is no middle way here: either you adapt what you have written to how condensing works, or you don’t use condensing at all and keep separate staves/files for score/parts (like we often did in Finale).

If you do decide to use condensing, there are some limitations to how you can present your staff labels though. There is a setting to keep the 1 and 2 horizontal instead of vertical, but it is more tricky to get rid of them completely; you would have to do some magic with paragraph styles AFAIK.

This forum clearly needs a laugh emoji alongside the heart.

I’m a Finale guy from back to version 2, and this thread made me cringe. In the bad old days, we’d just say RTFM and let it go…
