Difficult to start note entry

I am new to Dorico on iPad and I find it difficult to start note entry.
When I try to double tap a bar to start note entry in almost 9 of 10 times it selects something in this bar instead of starting note entry mode.
Do you have any hint for me. This issue makes Dorico almost unusable for me on the iPad.

Best is to use it with a keyboard, and a touch pad if you have the space, bonus if you have a Bluetooth MIDI. Much faster and easier.

Yes, I also had this idea. I ordered a Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad. But sometimes it would be nice to be able to edit something just with my fingers. Perhaps a dedicated button that changes from the selection to the note input would be helpful.

rick, you have to make sure, none of the little selection buttons is active.

Tap the “start note input” button in the toolbox on the left-hand side of the screen after selecting an item at the position where you want note input to begin.
