Digital black partly generated in an otherwise working DDP-master

hi there!
i do have a problem i never saw in wavelab before: i’m exporting a DDP-master from a 96kHz-project (with the resampler in the mastersection). everything seems to be correct, all my indexes and the likes, the TOC is fine, and no errors of any kinds reported. only thing: that master has 7 tracks, and from track 5 on, i get digital black on the audio-side. any clue what it could be? i do have the same plugin (with different settings though) on all the clips within the timeline, and a limiter in the master, that’s all. last version of WL 12 pro on sonoma 14.7.4. thanks in advance and best, benoit

you’ll see more - it’s a minefield!

that said, why wouldn’t you render to 44/16 first, evaluate it and then do the ddp without anything on master buss?
it’s dangerous to render something unknown straight to ddp.

Agreed. I always do my “big” render first at 64-bit float and highest/native sample rate to bake in the processing and inspect the results.

From there, it’s easy to render any and all various formats and those renders go MUCH faster because the heavy-lifting of the plug-in rendering is already done.

It’s the only way in my opinion.

…you’re both right - but i could narrow down the problem to a specific plugin. talking to those guys atm. thanks!
