Diminution - Rhythms

Hello, I need to turn quarter notes into eighth notes in a given passage without Dorico adding eighth rests between each of the notes. Additionally, I need to move the newly created rhythms into different beats. Please see the attached. What is the best way to accomplish this? This will occur in all instruments except the perc lines at the bottom. We are not adding measures; just diminishing the rhythms. Thank you.

Erm? You are reducing the number of bars from four to three
These are the steps:

  • Turn on Insert mode (I)
  • Select the double bar line and create an insert stop line (shift-alt-I)
  • Select the first set of notes to change to quavers (all instruments). Change the duration (5)
  • Repeat for the second set
  • Remove the red insert stop line (shift-alt-I)
  • Delete the (now empty) bar (shift-B -1)
  • Turn off Insert mode (I)

Thank you. That worked great. And yes you are correct, we are reducing the number of bars by one.
