I am working on some software for remote controlling plugins and the Direct Access for MIDI remote has been great. The one problem I am having is switching between various inserts by clicking on their respective GUI’s as we all do when mixing and working.
The MIDI Remote access has some degree of knowing “which plugin am I clicked on right now?” but only on the selected channel. It would be awesome if we had an event that let the API know the ID of the last “clicked on” plugin GUI was so that we could switch our remote setup to that plugin quickly with just a click.
This may be a feature request or there may be another way if anyone knows.
My intended behavior is while working, I will have MANY open plugin GUI’s at the same time across multiple channels in the mixer and I will switch between them quite often with a mouse click. I would like the API to broadcast the plugin ID when the GUI is simply clicked once. That would allow MIDI Remotes to switch profiles for the various plugins quickly.
