I am new to Wavelab and used RX and SF in the past.
Now learning it and the key sequences concept really suprised me. There is a lot of them. And because of it the Wavelab at the moment feels like a mine field. I have no idea what happens if I press D then Y and then 3 accidentally.
Is there a way to somehow disable all key sequences? I do not need such complicated shortcuts because Wavelab is a supplumentary editor for me.
You can customize shortcuts, which means you can replace them or remove them, but this has to be done one by one. This would be a big task. Shortcuts are customized in the WaveLab preferences.
Now, if you don’t press keys like delete or backspace, nothing serious should happen.
Disabling key sequences would be the same as disabling shortcuts and I don’t recall any programs where that is possible.
It would make the program unusable.
Remember that key sequences are needed as simple shortcuts like “Ctrl+k” or “F4” are probably being used by some other functions.
And WL being such a huge and complex program, more shortcuts are needed.
Still, i understand your request as i have gotten lost with those complex key sequences so i have disabled a few of those that were more prone to be accidentally used and created a few of my own, for the most needed functions, matching the shortcuts in the DAWs i use.
It helps keep focused maintaining the same operating frame and not worrying about certain functions happening by accident.
When you use your programs daily and with a certain level of responsibility, adjusting your shortcuts is the same as adjusting your chair.
