Hi all,
for those of you who have this annoying niggle (i.e. possibly disconnecting your internal drives by accidentally clicking on the wrong drive in the “Eject” area in the tray) with SATA drives connected to an Marvell SATA controller on Windows 8/8.1, here’s an updated solution, bless the internet:
