Can we PLEASE get rid of the annoying “feature” that turns on cycle when clicking the ruler?

I, for one, cannot see any usefulness for this feature, and it slows down my workflow tremendously, as it’s hard to click the ruler without accidentally invoking it.

Seriously, DOES ANYBODY LIKE THIS?

and the cycle mode that is activate when you have no intention for it, just need to use a ruler to set markers, etc.
