I’ve disabled auto-save, but my work is still being automatically saved to the Bin. Is there a way to stop this?
If I save normally, it will also be saved to the Recycle Bin.
How do I resolve this?

In the Preferences where you disabled Auto Save you can also specify the default paths for Dorico projects as well as for backup projects (Auto Save).
There’s no way to disable this behaviour. Dorico will move auto-saves and backups to the Recycle Bin/Trash when it deletes them.

Auto saves and backups are two different things, and Dorico moves both of them to the Recycle Bin when it deletes them.
You’ve turned off Auto Save; try setting Number of Backups per Project to 0 to disable backups.
I’m curious why you’re so determined to remove all traces of something that might save you hours of work, in the rare event that Dorico crashes with unsaved work, or a document becomes corrupt. Auto-save and Backup has saved my bacon more than once.
Most OSes can be set to automatically delete files moved to the Bin after a period of time; so once they are there, you don’t have to worry about them.
Thanks.
